sequencing towards resilience

what its al about

Stop sequencing towards a pose.
Start sequencing for capacity.

You already know how to build a yoga class. You know how to create a sequence, work towards a peak, layer in anatomy and make the whole thing flow.

But what if you started asking a different question?

Not: “What pose are we building towards?”
But: “What capacity am I asking my students to develop?”

This training is about learning to sequence for challenge, adaptation and recovery — using slow, intelligent movement to help students build the capacity to meet change without being overwhelmed by it.

A different way of thinking about sequencing

Resilience isn't about constantly pushing harder, or avoiding intensity altogether.

It's the ability to meet what arises, adapt, recover and return.

I will be co-teaching this training along side Susan Michel - certified advance Rolfer and the lead anatomy teacher across many YTTS - a true expert in her field and a teach I admire deeply.

what you'll learn

Sequence from principle, not formula — make decisions based on what you want to create in your students, rather than relying on templates or pose progressions.

Understand the body from the inside out — explore how the nervous system, fascia, holistic anatomy and physical form inform your sequencing.

Work with challenge and recovery — use intensity, repetition, contrast and rest to support adaptation rather than simply exhaust the student.

Use gravity deliberately — develop strength, coordination and intentional movement without relying on speed or complexity.

Bring somatic intelligence into structural practice — balance physical structure with sensation, responsiveness and lived experience.

by the end you'll be able to....

Design sequences around a specific capacity you want students to develop, rather than simply a pose.

Know when to challenge, release, repeat or integrate to support adaptation.

Understand why your sequencing works, giving you freedom to create without another formula to follow.

Create practices that help students meet challenge, recover and return with greater capacity.

You'll learn how to use effort, resistance, rest and recovery deliberately — designing sequences around what you want your students to develop, rather than following familiar formulas.

this is for you if....

You might be a beginner or even advanced in your sequencing, but you're ready to understand what your sequencing is actually doing.

You want to bring anatomy, nervous system regulation, and somatics together in a way that actually changes how you teach.

You're not looking for more tricks, fancy transitions or complicated shapes.

You're looking for a deeper understanding of how to create change through practice.
